As a Business Development and Sales Representative, you will play a vital role in expanding our client base and driving revenue growth.

With 1M square feet of warehouse space across 3 locations in Indiana and Nevada that includes AIB food grade certified and currently pursing SQF certification, Hoosier Freight and Warehousing is positioned to be top tier provider. Our asset-based transportation division is based out of our corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, IN and serves a 250-mile radius that includes over 50 trailers and dedicated drivers with 2020 or newer equipment along with Indiana alcohol and beverage certification.

Position Overview:

Salary range: Base $55,000-75,000 based on experience + percentage of net, unlimited earning potential

Work arrangement: Hybrid

Target start date: September 1st or sooner

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Business Development and Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships. You will be an essential bridge between our 3PL services and potential customers, communicating the value we bring and aligning their logistics needs with our tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. New Business Development: Prospect and identify potential clients in target industries to expand our customer base. Leverage networking, referrals, and market research to generate leads and qualify potential opportunities.

2. Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to reach and exceed sales targets. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to create compelling pitches, proposals, and presentations that showcase our 3PL capabilities.

3. Client Relationship Management: Build strong and lasting relationships with existing and potential clients. Understand their unique logistics requirements and demonstrate how our 3PL services can add value to their operations.

4. Negotiation and Closing: Engage in consultative selling and negotiation to close deals while ensuring that both parties' interests are well-balanced. Aim to secure long-term partnerships that align with our company's objectives.

5. Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Utilize this knowledge to identify opportunities for growth and enhancement of our service offerings.

6. Customer Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional customer experience by addressing client concerns, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a high level of responsiveness and reliability.

7. Sales Reporting: Regularly update sales pipelines, activity reports, and sales forecasts to management. Analyze sales data to identify areas of improvement and make strategic recommendations.

8. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of logistics solutions and successful onboarding of new clients.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Business Development or Sales Representative, preferably in the logistics, freight forwarding, or 3PL industry.

- Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes and terminology.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal teams.

- Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

- Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities.

- Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.

- Proficiency in using CRM software and sales-related tools.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in the 3PL industry with an existing network of contacts.

- Familiarity with current logistics technologies and trends, such as warehouse management systems and last-mile delivery solutions.

- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
